Notably, around the same time in Mesopotamia, there were artistic, non-lexical (as in non-cuneiform) depictions of ⛤ (a pentagram), ✴, ✷ (eight-pointed stars) and ✶ (a six-pointed star), like the Star of Ishtar; compare Sumerian 𒀭 (“sky, heaven”), in cuneiform, which is descended from such drawings, and 𒀯 (“star, constellation”).",

L. Zamenhof, the inventor of Esperanto, and first attested in 1892 in La Esperantisto. Zamenhof published all of his Esperantist works with green covers, having been indirectly inspired by Richard H. "etymology_text": "From:\n* (Communism sense): First attested on the cover of the 1908 Russian science fiction novel Red Star by Alexander Bogdanov, and popularised during the October Revolution and subsequent civil war in Russia between 1917 and 1922.\n* (Black star): First used on the flag of Ghana, designed by Theodosia Okoh, and adopted on 6 March 1957; she borrowed the black star from the flag of the Black Star Line to represent Black rights, the emancipation of Africa, and unity against colonialism.\n* (Esperanto): Created by L. L. Zamenhof, the inventor of Esperanto, and first attested in 1892 in La Esperantisto. Zamenhof published all of his Esperantist works with green covers, having been indirectly inspired by Richard H. Geoghegan—who often used the colour to represent Ireland—and he took the five-pointed star from a grammar book of Esperanto written by Louis de Beaufront.",
